The EZiCAT i750 SMARTREADY provides verification of data with its capacity to connect data with details of the locators use including the time & date, detection mode & operator’s details. This is is the first locator with GPS Positioning, which allows it to be tracked & record the test location. Improved mobile flexibility allows the EZiCAT i750 SMARTREADY locator to communicate seamlessly through Bluetooth® with Apple & Android mobile devices.

Cable Detection’s EZiCAT i750 SMARTREADY range provides the latest digital locator technology, with on-board data storage and GPS/GNSS positioning. Every second the data logging feature records the locators’ activity tagged with a geographical position. The recorded data can be uploaded in the field through a mobile device and sent back to the office for post processing analysis.
Bluetooth wireless connectivity allows the EZiCAT i650to integrate seamlessly with mobile mapping technology to log survey data, in addition to enabling wireless Bluetooth data transfer.
Record and store up to 80 hours of records. These logs can be transferred via Bluetooth to a PC for analysis. The locators are capable of storing approximately 80 hours of records.
The new feature which indicates the presence of a shallow buried service in power, 8 & 33 kHz modes, (within approximately 30cm) alerting users to the increased risk.

The EZiCAT i550 features utility depth indication, when used in conjunction with the EZiTRACE or Sonde in8 or 33 kHz modes. Operators can determine the depth of the buried utility, providing a clear advantage when conducting ground surveys.

Important points to consider before you start locating buried cables and pipes.
Not all underground utilities are live and giving off signals. These buried cables and pipes can not be found by using a cable avoidance tool (CAT) alone, you need to use a signal transmitter to apply a signal to the utility in order to locate it with the CAT.
The sweep search is the most reliable way of detecting and pinpointing any buried cables or pipes. The sweep search involves going two ways over a marked out area, each way a right angle to the other ensuring the locator will pass over the utility and detect the signal at least once during the search.
Non-metallic pipes cannot be detected using the standard locating method or sweep search because they don’t give off a detectable signal. Therefore you will need to thread an accessory into the utility to trace its location. The dual frequency sonde is ideal for this use.
Safely identify and locate a specific live utility. In areas where buried utilities are highly congested (e.g. city centre) this is a safe and easy method to identify what utility is running where and in what direction. Standard locating methods will tell you where there are buried cables and pipes in your excavation area, but not what the type of utility it is. This method helps to overcome this issue.

What is a EZiCAT and why do I need one?
Every year site workers are injured due to inadvertently striking buried utilities such as electricity cables or gas pipelines. Obtaining accurate information about the location of buried utilities has never been more essential to protect employees and equipment during any excavation project.
Local legislation normally prescribes the use of a locating device before any kind of excavation takes place. It makes perfect sense to search for, trace and mark all services before work commences.
